European Porcelain & Tile We Work With

The name is literal. The slab surfaces we specify most often are made in Europe, and three lines account for most of our work.

SapienStone — Italy. Porcelain slabs from the Iris Ceramica Group. We built a Woodinville kitchen around Calacatta Silky, a matte marble-look porcelain: the veining carries over a mitered waterfall edge and runs down to the floor, and the same material climbs the window wall as a full-height backsplash that wraps into the window return and sill. Porcelain is the honest answer when someone wants marble on a surface that gets cooked on — it does not etch from lemon or wine, it never needs sealing, and a hot pan set straight down will not mark it.

Dekton and Neolith — Spain. Ultra-compact surfaces from Cosentino and TheSize. Both are sintered rather than resin-bound, which is why they hold up where quartz cannot: UV-stable in direct sun, unbothered by freeze-thaw, and dense enough for exterior cladding and outdoor kitchen counters as well as interior work.

Tile, alongside the slabs. Each format wants a different setting method, and that choice does more for how long the work lasts than the tile itself:

  • Glazed ceramic — walls and backsplashes. In an Edmonds kitchen we ran it to the ceiling behind the range, where the glaze catches the window light.
  • Through-body porcelain — floors, wet areas and anywhere the surface takes traffic, set in thin-set mortar.
  • Natural stone tile — set over cement backer board, which is what keeps a stone floor from cracking as the substrate moves.
  • Glass — set in a gentler mastic adhesive, because the body of the tile is visible through the face and a grey mortar will read through it.
  • Large-format panels — laid with leveling systems, since a panel this size shows every millimetre of lippage.

Porcelain and sintered slabs suit kitchens, wet walls and outdoor work; glazed ceramic and glass belong on dry vertical surfaces; natural stone rewards a client who wants the material to age. If you are choosing between them, bring your plans to the Kirkland showroom and we will pull samples.

I will be keeping these folks in my contacts for any other future project requiring their service as they are amazing!!! Dustin was so helpful helping me pick out and order the materials required for my bathroom remodeling project. He also, was able to help me with providing an inexpensive option for cutting my solid surface shelves for my niches per my specifications and jumped to action with recutting my shelves upon realizing there was a construction issue and I needed the shelves recut right away. I was also, grateful (and lucky) I was able to get a hold of the metal trim strips in quick fashion as well as my tile contractor did not provide me a heads up the metal edging was needed prior to the start of construction. My project definitely would not have gone as “smooth” if it weren’t for European Stone & Tile. I can’t thank them and Dustin enough.

We hired European Stone & Tile to remodel our laundry room (floors & countertops) and we love the end result. I've attached before & after photos of the space. What set them apart from the other contractors we contacted was that they showed us the end product first - remnants from their yard and tile/cabinet samples before we needed to pay a deposit. This allowed us to visualize all the components together and have confidence on the outcome when paying the deposit. We gave them a tight deadline and they (impressively) delivered on this deadline. During the process they were communicative, gave helpful design input and most of all were punctual and stuck to the schedule.

We just finished our renew and redo project with European Stone & Tile. We were very happy with the whole crew that worked to replace our kitchen counters and redo our small bathroom. Johnathan, Luis, Jose and Jesus were all the most hard working, nice, pleasant and most importantly prompt crew! I always knew when they would show up and what they would be doing with an email the night before. Both my projects turned out great, just what I was hoping for! Maria the owner was also wonderful, she was always available for my questions and very helpful with help with my design dilemmas. She was always right! I highly recommend them!

I had a piece I needed for my project in Colorado. I called everywhere. Nobody had what I needed in any state, nor could they get it in time. Dustin was able to get it to the store the next day with no added cost. My son just happened to be on vacation in the area. Dustin worked with me to make this happen. Did everything he said he would. Worked with a courier and me so those parts could get flown back with my son the next day. We have them and it was all because of Dustin. He was very nice and made all the effort to get the items I needed. I May not live there but I know people who do. I would chose this store first based on the way Dustin treated me. You have my recommendation hands down. I deal with a lot of people and have a 37 year history of such. People like this are hard to find. When you do find someone this professional, you better do what you can to hold on to them. As a business owner people like Dustin are 1 in a 1000 at least. I hope the people he works for understand the importance of his work, effort, and professionalism. I wish European Tile and Dustin the best of everything the future has to offer.

Jose C and Jonathon did an outstanding job with Quartz countertop installation. They were informative and answered all questions with knowledge. The seam was perfect and hardly noticeable. The office was very diligent and patient with all my questions. Highly recommend!!

I am so pleased with my bathroom tile flooring! I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out. Maria came up with a plan for how to tile around a bathtub, integrating it with the flooring, and it turned out beautifully! She also helped me pick colors and grout that looks amazing. Luis and Jesus worked tirelessly, installing the tile and smoothing the existing flooring in the closet with the new tile surface—not an easy job. They were polite, friendly and very easy to work with. I highly recommend European Stone, Maria and her crew. You won’t be disappointed!

We were very pleased with the selections available. The guys who installed our tile were always thoughtful, and they were meticulous about cleaning up after themselves. Best of all the work was top notch.
